COVID-19 Response

As ASCD's 2022 In-Person Annual Conference draws near, we have been monitoring the trends nationally and in Illinois. We are following the COVID-19 guidelines being issued by the City of Chicago and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Per their guidance and recommendations, we will not be requiring attendees to share their vaccination status or wear masks.

We know that our attendees come from diverse backgrounds and work in a great variety of settings. Thus, we will be fostering a judgement-free experience, where attendees can choose whether to mask or not. We hope this information helps you to better understand the way we’ll be navigating this constantly changing landscape. Learn more here.

Certificate of Attendance and Academic Credit

A Certificate of Attendance will be e-mailed to all conference participants about one week after the conference. Participants who attend one of our pre-conference institutes will receive 5.5 clock hours on their certificate. And as an ASCD professional development program participant, you may qualify for academic credit (ASCD does not provide academic credit directly).

NOTE: This information is separate from the certificate course program.

Using Technology at the Conference

We ask that all participants

• Be mindful of the parameters of shared bandwidth.
• Use only one device at a time to access the web when possible or in areas with high network traffic.
• Avoid using a MiFi device or mobile hotspot.
• Use the established wireless network SSID or 4G connections.
• Avoid downloading large files on-site; please download items overnight at your hotel or before you arrive on-site.
• Fully charge devices before arriving on-site.
• Avoid using daisy-chain power strips in public spaces or meeting rooms. Unapproved items may be removed by union or facility representatives.

Meeting rooms will have wireless access and limited electrical outlets, so be sure your devices are charged each day. There will be charging stations on-site.
